Williams award-winning Gospel singer-scholar, Dr. Timothy Tyson Historian and author of Blood Done Sign My Name, Dr. Blair Kelley professor and author of Right to Die, Dr. David Cecelski Historian and author of The Waterman's Song and Attorney James Ferguson. This unique course design will present the history of our area through lectures, panel discussions and entertainment. All community members are encouraged to attend. Childcare (kindergarten-age 14) is available with registration. Children will participate in multicultural learning activities througout the course.
Classes will be held on Thursday evenings beginning on September 8, 2011- November 3, 2011* from 6:30- 8:30 pm.

• Develop a historical perspective of relationships between African Americans and whites in the American South placing Wilmington’s history in a larger context
• Establish a community dialogue grounded in history and focused on citizenship that goes beyond blame and defensiveness
